Explore the Chilean side of Patagonia and the famously photographed Torres del Paine, the 3 towering granite peaks of the Paine mountain range. Other highlights include renowned glaciers of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, Grey, Pingo, and Tyndall and the well-known lakes including Grey, Pehoe (on which we stayed), Nordenslold, and Sarmiento.

There is an enormous colony of king penguins (approximately 1000) as well as smaller colonies of gentoo and magellanic penguins. You can wander unfettered throughout the point on a grassy field and down to the white sand beach where we had the pleasure of viewing a group of about 20 king penguins march along the shore, periodically taking a short dip before returning.

We started our day by utlilizing the Teleferico which we absolutely recommend! Think large ski gondolas that glide high above the trees giving an incredible view of Santiago. There are a few different boarding stations located within the Parque Metropolitano de Santiago from which you can hop on and each station sells tickets.
